The wild turkey, the bird Benjamin Franklin wanted to make the national bird of the United States is the largest game bird found in this part of the world. Even though it is not the national bird it is still one of the most popular birds in North America. Early Americans turned the crafting of decoys into a timeless art form. Building on tradition, the artisans in the Big Sky Carvers workshop preserve this rich history with our high quality woodcarvings. Forever captured in eastern white pine, alder, and basswood, these collectibles represent an exemplary collection of decoys, bird, fish, and animal carvings. Meticulous attention to detail and masterful hand painting provide realistic portrails of each bird. Every carving is numbered, limited and authenticated with a brass medallion set into the base or a brass numbered plate. Presentaion medallion cord with product description card is also included. |
